Stewart L. Mueller, CPA

Stewart graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 1993 with a B.S. in Accounting.  Soon-after, he passed all four parts of the CPA exam in his first attempt. Stewart is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Stewart is also a member of the AGC (Association of General Contractors).

His experience with closely-held businesses and their accounting information systems spans twenty years, as well as various industries.  He began working five years in restaurant operations and accounting, then five years at Medicine Shoppe International: a leading pharmacy franchise, and finally, the last ten years in public accounting where he has worked with clients ranging in size from $100k to $9m+ in annual revenues, providing controllership, tax compliance/advisory services, and systems set up and consultations.

He has been a Certified QuickBooks® Professional Advisor since the program's inception in 1999, and has trained and consulted  clients in the use of QuickBooks® accounting software for the last 16 years. 

Recently, Stewart was named as a participant in the Accountant and Advisor Customer Council for Intuit Inc., 2005-2007. While participating on the council, he provided input and feedback to Intuit's management and product development engineers.

Kristin A. Standish, CPA

Kristin has been at The Stewart L. Mueller Firm since December of 2006 and is certified as a QuickBooks® Professional Advisor and has been certified QuickBooks® advisor since January of 2007.  She specializes in review and compilations for the diverse industries of the firm as well as all aspects of financial statements and other accounting services.  Her main focus over the last year was working with construction and contracting businesses.

Prior to joining SLMCPA, Kristin spent 4 years working as the accountant for a distributing business, 6 years as an internal auditor and financial analyst in the hospital industry, and 2 years working in the audit department of a large, local CPA firm.

Kristin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in accounting, from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Chris M. Handley

Chris graduated from Christian Brothers College High School in 2001, where he had two years of accounting classes.  Chris was accepted into a small private college in Florida, Florida Southern College.  Florida Southern College has an excellent business department, and Chris graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in accounting and finance, with a minor in economics.   Chris currently attends the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he is working towards his CPA and MBA. 

Before working for The Stewart L. Mueller Firm, Chris worked at Boyd, Franz, & Stephans, LLP as a staff accountant.  Chris began working with Stewart L. Mueller, CPA, PC in January of 2007, where he handles individual and business tax matters.  Chris has been a QuickBooks® Certified Professional Advisor since Januray of 2007.
